Since 1948, the North Olympic History Center, formerly the Clallam County Historical Society, has been dedicated to keeping the history of the North Olympic Peninsula alive. The NOHC manages a research library, an artifact collection, and an education program.

History Hikes - A New Partnership Program With JCHS

The NOHC is excited to partner with the Jefferson County Historical Society to offer a new program, "History Hikes"!

Join NOHC Executive Director David Brownell for one of these guided hikes at historically significant sites around east Jefferson County. Hikers will explore evidence of the many layers of history, from S'Klallam and Chemakum sites to the Irondale steel plant and U.S. military installations.Each hike lasts approximately 90 minutes. Distance and terrain will vary and participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the hike site. See you on the trails!
