Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the life blood of the North Olympic History Center.

In 2023, over 20 volunteers donated more than 3,800 hours of their time to the Center. Members of the Board of Directors, also volunteers, are charged with raising funds to operate the day-to-day affairs of the Society’s museum and research library, while volunteer staff carry out the tasks that keep the whole organization running smoothly under the guidance of the Executive Director.

By joining our team, you become part of a unique group of dedicated individuals who can be found in the Archives Storage Facility and in the Research Library, lending their special talents where needed to preserve and share North Olympic Peninsula history with the community.

If you have any interest and can help us in the following areas, we need YOU!

  • Assisting with special events and programs.
  • Organizing, coordinating, and managing fundraising efforts.
  • Collections cataloging, data entry and curation tasks in our curatorial facility.
  • Completing research requests for the public and the Center.
  • Grant-writing.
  • Groundskeeping and maintenance of our campus, including electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, or other similar skills.

To tell us more about your interests, please fill out the application and return it to: NOHC, P.O.Box 1327, Port Angeles, WA 98362.
